Here is a non-inclusive list of 'net acronyms.

ATFQ     - Answer The F***ing Question!
BDC      - Brain Dead Cager (see cage)
BDI      - Brain Dead Idiot
BFD      - Big F***ing Deal
BOFH     - Our hero, the Bastard Operator From Hell. Let's just say that
           he doesn't like whiny questions from lusers...
BOHICA   - Bend Over Here It Comes Again
BRS      - Big Red Switch (that shuts off the system)
BTBO     - Bite the Big One / Bit the Big One
BTDT     - Been There Done That
BTW      - By The Way
cage     - Not really an acronym, means "automobile". I first saw this on the
           'net, lately I've been hearing it on the streets. Used by 
           motorcyclists
CYA      - Cover Your Ass (Nothing to do with underwear!)
CFV      - Call For Votes (usually in reference to a new newsgroup)
DIY      - Do It Yourselfer
DoD      - If I Told You I'd Have To Shoot You (motorcycle related)
           (Best to ask the real meaning in private email...)
ESAD     - Eat S*** and Die
FAQ      - Frequently Asked Question
FAQL     - Frequently Asked Questions List
FOAD     - F*** Off and Die
FOAF     - Friend Of A Friend (qualifying 3rd hand information)
FUD      - Fear Uncertainty and Doubt
FWIW     - For What It's Worth
FYI      - For Your Information
IAE      - In any event

IMCO     - In my considered opinion
IMHO     - In My Humble Opinion
IMNSHO   - In My Not So Humble Opinion

Kot*     - Keeper of the * (originally used on rec.moto, seems to be 
                            spreading)
LART     - Luser Attitude Readjustment Tool, usually heavy and
           blunt. Fine tuning may be performed with Nerf weapons
MOTAS    - Member Of The Appropriate Sex
MOTOS    - Member Of The Opposite Sex
MOTSS    - Member Same Sex
MUD      - Multiple User Dungeon
NBFD     - No BFD
NRN      - No reply necessary
Ob.      - Obligatory  (the only thing in the posting which clearly has
                        anything to do with the newsgroup/mailing list
                         in question)
OBTW     - Oh BTW
OTOH     - On The Other Hand
OTGH     - On The Gripping Hand (Third opinion, read Niven/Pournelle for
                                 enlightenment)
RFD      - Request For Discussion (usually a new newsgroup proposal)
RFI      - Request For Information
ROTFL    - Rolling On The Floor Laughing
ROTFLMAO - Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off
RSN      - Real Soon Now
RTFM     - Read The F***ing Manual! (or: Read the Fine Manual)
RTM      - Read The Manual
SNAFU    - Situation Normal All F***ed Up (predates the 'net)
SO       - Significant Other
SITD     - Still in the dark
TANSTAAFL- There ain't no such thing as a free lunch (I first heard this
           in science-fiction settings)
TIA      - Thanks in advance
TIC      - Tongue in cheek
TLA      - Three-Letter Acronym (such as this)
TYSVM    - Thank You So Very Much
TYSMIHA  - Thank You Sir, May I Have Another
TYVM     - Thank You Very Much (often sarcastic)
WFO      - Wide F***ing Open (referring to the throttle, usually on a
                              motorcycle)
WKF      - Well-Known Fact (often sarcastic)
WRT      - With Regard To
WTF      - What The F***
YA*      - Yet Another *
YMMV     - Your Mileage May Vary (A really common disclaimer used for
                               many subjects besides gasoline mileage)
